Upon completion of the acquisition of Sirius Insurance, CMIG is getting more and more attention from mainstream investment institutions overseas. Recently, CMIG Chairman Dong Wenbiao, Vice Executive Chairman Kevin E. Lee, and Board Secretary Zhong Jipeng visited some overseas financial institutions including Goldman Sachs, Citibank, Hana Financial Group, Sumitomo Mitsui and Itochu, and had extensive exchange with them on the in-depth cooperation in developing overseas business.
On May 10, CMIG Chairman Dong Wenbiao, Vice Chairman Kevin E. Lee and CMIG Leasing Chairman Wang Rong visited the headquarters of Hana Financial Group in Seoul on invitation, and met with Chairman Kim Jung-tai and Vice Chairman xxx for in-depth discussion on topics including CMIG Leasing’s business jet operation project and the joint establishment of a internet financial investment group. Mr. Kim said that ever since CMIG was at its preparation stage, Hana Financial Group has been a most loyal supporter, and the two parties have been cooperating on the platform of Asia Financial Cooperation Association; moreover, since the two parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement in 2014, the close cooperation between the two parties has been brought to the next level. On May 12, CMIG Chairman Dong Wenbiao and Vice Chairman Kevin E. Lee visited the headquarters of Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank in Tokyo. Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank’s President Hitoshi Tsunekage, Executive Director xxx and Retail General Manager xxx had in-depth exchange with Mr. Dong Wenbiao and Mr. Kevin E. Lee, exploring cooperation in financing, asset management and investment.
President of Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank Hitoshi Tsunekage said he is optimistic about the future development of CMIG. He believes that China’s private companies will enjoy bigger development globally. He is willing to provide financing support for CMIG’s investment in Japan, and hopes to become the asset manager of the investment of CMIG and Chinese private companies in Japan.

On May 13, CMIG Chairman Dong Wenbiao and Vice Chairman Kevin E. Lee visited the headquarters of Itochu Corporation, Japan’s famous comprehensive company, and met with its President Masahiro Okafuji, Vice President Koji Takayanagi and Vice President for Asia Yoichi Ikezoe (??). The two parties explored in-depth cooperation in investment / financing and business merger and acquisition projects. Executive Vice Chairman of Chia Tai Group Xie Jiren (??), CMIG Director and Vice Chairman of Chia Tai Group Yang Xiaoping, and CMIG Board Secretary Zhong Jipeng also attended the meeting.
In the morning of May 17 (EST US), CMIG Chairman Dong Wenbiao and Vice Chairman Kevin E. Lee visited the headquarters of Sirius Insurance in New York for a briefing of the insurance business status by the Sirius insurance team. This was the first visit of Mr. Dong after the acquisition of Sirius Group by CM International under CMIG at the end of April. President and CEO of Sirius US Dan Wilson made a detailed report on Sirius Insurance’s business development and the plan to drive business in the Asian market. Vice President of CMIG Kong Linshan, Board Secretary Zhong Jipeng and CEO of CM International Liao Feng also attended the meeting.
Mr. Dong Wenbiao noted that CMIG will fully support the business development of Sirius Insurance, develop a better incentive plan and provide a larger development room for the team. Currently, Europe is suffering from economic depression, which presents many acquisition opportunities, and Asia also has many asset acquisition opportunities for the future. Sirius has an outstanding merger and acquisition team and should better leverage its power in this market.

Chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs Lloyd Blankfein, and the Head of Trading and Investment and his core team had in-depth exchange with Mr. Dong Wenbiao and Mr. Kevin E. Lee on future cooperation opportunities in the US and China. Chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs Lloyd Blankfein believed there was a huge room for cooperation between Goldman Sachs and CMIG to create effective resources and capability complementation in the China and US markets. Goldman Sachs hopes to enhance communication and collaboration with CMIG to form a strong alliance for better development.
Later in the afternoon of May 17, CMIG Chairman Dong Wenbiao and Vice Chairman Kevin E. Lee visited the headquarters of Citibank, and met with Citibank’s Head of Global Financial Institutional Business Peter Babej and Citibank’s Head of Global Investment Banking Ray McGuire to explore the possibility of the parties’ cooperation in global finance and business acquisition. Peter Babej remarked that he hoped Citigroup could gradually establish closer business partnership with CMIG.
