Being responsible ,Youth will never be underestimated

——XUE Hansu, Financial Designer at Design Studio 2

In 5 months, XUE Hansu changed his job from Goldman Sachs to CMIG, from an agency to a financial holding company, from a seller to a buyer. Hansu’s biggest comment on the change was that CMIG had offered him another way to live and work

The way he sees investment is to watch, listen and form into one’s own system. He said his previous job at Goldman Sachs was practically sitting in front of the computer as a skilled technician. But CMIG has introduced him into a much broader horizon. “The ‘learning’ process was completed in my previous job. But here, I feel like the urge to learn and see more has come back. My passion and opportunity to learn has been reactivated. Young people’s opinions are heard and taken seriously here, too.”

The Design Studio 2 at CMIG where Hansu works holds one or two luncheon parties every month, where securities traders and experts in private placement and investment banks are invited to join and exchange their experiences. After the 811 currency reform, three experts from Bloomberg were invited immediately to a luncheon to shed lights on the future of RMB currency. Now the Group management also likes the idea and plans to promote the luncheon across the Group. “The studio where I work likes to think and reflect.” He grained and said that he was actually an “older brother” in the young team. “Everyone is so fresh and pure, moving towards a bright future.”

Hansu has participated in many projects since he joined CMIG. When asked about the most impressive one, he shared with us a “failure”.

Now insurance subjects are quite popular in investment market. Financial institutions and enterprises are looking for new targets. CMIG also had the plan to acquire insurance licenses and had done a panoramic scanning for targets. Hansu put it like this: “We were so ambitious and optimistic that we would spend a huge chunk of money for what we want, the licenses.” However, for an investment report proposed by project team, the investment committee received a neutral, or even negative evaluation from Design Studio 2. The report decided that the plan had not-so-great effectiveness and limited synergistic effect. If the company bought it at a high price, it would drag down the entire Group. It requires much courage and professionalism to say NO to such promising investment trend.

Hansu said that the reasons why he joined CMIG were that he had faith in the platform value of CMIG and that CMIG cared much about its employees and provided opportunities for them to realize their value. He’s got the opportunities he needs. He also said: “The internal luncheon and external Global Expert Advisory Committee, to name a few, are the highlights of my work at CMIG.”
