At 15:00, June 17, 2016 (local time) in France, China Minsheng Investment Group (hereinafter referred to as “CMIG”) president Li Huaizhen attended the “first helicopter delivery ceremony” for CMIG Leasing’s purchase of 100 helicopters at the headquarters of Airbus Helicopters, and met with President of Airbus Helicopters Guillaume Faury for a in-depth discussion on the development of the international and domestic aviation market. Chairman of CMIG Leasing (China Minsheng International Financial Leasing Company) Ms. Wang Rong also attended the meeting.
Mr. Li Huaizhen introduced to Mr. Faury the background against which CMIG and CMIG Leasing were established, their development status in the aviation industry home and abroad, and their plan for future development in China and in the global market. Mr. Li said, CMIG is committed to developing business in the domestic and international general aviation market, and has formulated a development strategy for the Chinese market that suits local conditions. Considering the three main weaknesses in China’s aviation emergency medical rescue market, CMIG Leasing has developed the “5300 plan”, meaning purchasing 100 helicopters, investing in the construction of 100 general aviation airports, and upgrading and transforming 100 partner hospitals within five years in a bid to quickly improve the three major weaknesses and satisfy the fast growing need for emergency medical rescue in the country.
Mr. Faury spoke highly of the achievements made by CMIG and CMIG Leasing since their establishment, and introduced in detail to Mr. Li the general aviation business development status of Airbus Helicopters globally and particularly in China. Airbus Helicopters entered the Chinese market in the 1960’s, and takes the No.1 position in the Chinese market with a fleet of close to 200. Mr. Faury noted that the investment made by CMIG in China’s general aviation industry is a very wise decision. Currently, Airbus Helicopters is looking for new investment opportunities in China, and hopes to explore the emerging market of helicopter application together with CMIG.
CMIG Leasing’s volume purchase of Airbus helicopters is the first purchase of a helicopter fleet made by a financial leasing company in China. It is also the biggest purchase framework order for the light single product series ever received by Airbus Helicopters. Helicopters purchased will be put into China’s general aviation market in the form of leasing, mainly for emergency medical rescue. This cooperation is of great significance both to the two parties and to China’s general aviation industry, which reflects the two parties’ recognition of China’s general aviation market and their determination to make strategic investment, and will play a leading role in China’s emerging general aviation application market represented by emergency medical rescue.
