Top-class Worldwide Experts Gather in Shanghai to Plan Investment Distribution for CMIG

The Third Conference of the CMIG Global Advisory Council, an annual grand event of a top-class private think tank in China, will formally open in Shanghai on October 13th. Under the theme of “New situations around the World & New Opportunities in Asia,” this Conference will focus on the current global economic situation and investment opportunities in the Asian region. The two-day conference invites political, economic, and academic elites from around the world to discuss trends affecting regional development, along with opportunities and challenges confronted by Chinese capital.

Since January 2015, CMIG began to set up a think tank organization, the CMIG Global Advisory Council. They convened the first and second conferences in Beijing and Singapore. As an ad hoc consulting and advisory organization, the CMIG Board of Directors up till now has assembled more than a dozen top-class experts from global political, investment and academic fields to become advisor members. In the future, more outstanding personalities will join.

As the representative of Chinese private capital and founded in August 2014, CMIG has acquired rapid growth in a matter of two years to attract widespread attention in the industry. Arranging construction for the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, CMIG built the Indonesia Industrial Park with USD 5 billion and acquired Sirius International Insurance with USD 2.5 billion. They built the world’s biggest single unit photovoltaic power station in Ningxia and purchased 100 Airbus helicopters. All these “master strokes” came from deep insight into the global economic situation and an accurate grasping of industry trends by CMIG “foreign brain,” namely top-echelon experts from different industries worldwide.

During the conference of this year’s Global Advisory Council, CMIG management will introduce CMIG’s strategic distribution and business growth thus far, spanning over 2 years since its inception. The Theme Forum of the conference will also adopt the theme of “Global Asset Restructuring and Economic Re-balancing—How CMIG Grasps Investment Opportunities in the New Situation.” They’ve invited expert Board members to interpret the global and Asian situation and offer suggestions on investment strategies for Chinese private capital represented by CMIG in regions around the globe and in each industry.

Parallel forums show CMIG global strategic distribution

Up till now, CMIG’s total assets have grown to about 200 billion yuan. Furthermore, it has established three major features of new energy, building industrialization, and home-based senior citizen care, as well as the strategy of creating three financial groups: a globalized insurance group in Singapore, financial leasing group in Hong Kong, and asset management group overseas.

Revolved around the above strategies, the conference on October 13th will set up sub-forums for topics including CMIG’s plan to create the Singapore Insurance Center, Hong Kong Leasing Platform, and European Asset Management Group, along with CMIG distribution in building industrialization and new energy fields. It will invite senior industry experts from different sectors and administrators of leading enterprises to conduct in-depth analysis of opportunities and challenges, as well as development prospects in each industry.
