CMIG and Shanghai Charity Foundation Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

On the morning of October 25th, CMIG and the Shanghai Charity Foundation (‘SCF’) signed a strategic cooperation agreement regarding the establishment of a special fund for caring for the elderly. The signing ceremony was attended by SCF Chairman Feng Guoqin, Executive Vice-Chairman Shi Derong and Vice-Chairman Shi Nanchang, as well as CMIG President Li Huaizhen, CMIG Futurelife Chairman Wang Hui and CMIG Shared Finance Chairman Zhuang Nuo.

As President Li Huaizhen pointed out, since its establishment CMIG has remained committed to both social benefits and its own value, focused on public welfare and shouldered its social responsibilities. Home-based care for the elderly is one of three special businesses of CMIG, which has been doing its part to provide for the aged. He expects that this fund will be a good start for CMIG’s close cooperation with SCF, allowing them to jointly make further contributions to China's endowment industry in the future.

This jointly founded fund will focus on funding community nursing projects and other activities in years to come. CMIG and SCF will also establish a Foundation Management Committee and staff the key management posts together. The two will communicate, exchange and negotiate on a regular basis, and jointly ensure the smooth management of the special fund.
