CMIG Granted “China Brand Awards of the Year 2017 by People’s Daily

    Sponsored by People’s Daily, China Brand Forum 2017 kicked off in Beijing on December 22, 2017. With the theme of “New Era, New Supply, and New Engine”, the forum centers on brand building in the new era. On the strength of its increasing brand power on both domestic and overseas markets in 2017, CMIG won “China Brand Awards of the Year 2017”.

    Ma Peihua, Vice Chairperson of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. He pointed out that we should spare no effort to lay a solid foundation for developing brand, improving product quality and facilitate transformation and upgrade of manufacturing industry by upgrade of brands. We should also attach great importance to quality consumption and promote consumption to the next level by brand value. And we should enrich brand building and foster a brand culture with great inclusiveness and Chinese characteristics, so as to build up our confidence in brands. In addition, we should make smart use of media and strengthen the role of communications, so as to share Chinese brand stories with the world and promote Chinese brands to the central stage of the globe.

    In its remarks, People’s Daily speaks highly of CMIG:

    Walking into the era, it carves out a new territory with a new engine;

    It sticks to innovation and R&D, and with core technologies, it aims at high-end users of the value chain and seize the initiative for competition;

    It is keen on the market observation and fosters new growth points to take a lead in the industry onto a new journey of transformation and upgrade;

    Yang Zhenwu, President of Office of People’s Daily said in his speech that it is a new era for both socialism with Chinese characteristics and Chinese economy. We must shift our focus on improving quality of the supply system, significantly enhancing the quality of Chinese economy, and promoting the notions of “Created in China” instead of “Made in China”, “Chinese quality” instead of “Chinese speed”, and “Chinese brands” instead of “Chinese products”.

    Guo Weiming, Deputy Director of the State Council Information Office said that, to promote development and upgrade of Chinese brands, we need to introduce richer and more diversified, faster and more convenient, more effective and precise, and more extensive and interactive brand communication to improve the depths, coverage and power of communication.

    Zhang Jianxing, Vice President of Office of People’s Daily presided over the opening ceremony. Xu Fushun, Deputy Director of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council; Liu Junchen, Deputy Director General of the State Administration of Industry and Commerce; Chen Gang, Deputy Director General of the General Administration of Quality Supervision; and Huang Rong, Vice Chairperson of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce delivered their speeches.
